Pastor Sayesh Sable

Please pray for Pastor Sayesh Sable in Aurangabad. Pastor Sayesh graduated in our first Koinonia School of Ministry graduating class, and has planted a slum church. If you have seen the movie “Slum Dog Millionaire”, you can picture where he lives and ministers.

He started his ministry with two families, and now he has 15 families in his Church. Pastor Sayesh recently got married, and he and his wife are living and ministering in this slum. Pray for them both.

It would be awesome to see a small Church built in this slum. The land is available, but it still needs to be transferred to the Church, and it can be done once the Lord provides for the funds.

Please pray for this need, but also pray concerning their many other needs, including their persecution by the slum lords, who are fundamentalists and others who do not want to see the lives of the slum dwellers change from bondage to freedom.

 Many of the Pastors and teachers who have visited India from your churches have been to this slum. Pastor Sayesh currently worships in an open courtyard, which is nothing more than an open space between the slum shacks. This summer the temperature rose to 115 degrees Fahrenheit, and in the monsoon season it rains sometimes continuously for months.

Pastor Sayesh is standing tall with the Light of the Gospel, and many are being drawn to Jesus. Please continue to pray for Pastor Sayesh, his new bride, and the Church in the slum.
