December 2011 Newsletter

As the year comes to a close, it is both encouraging to look back at where we’ve been and exciting to look forward to where we are headed. It was only last February that our girls’ home launch team at Koinonia Fellowship began publicly sharing the vision God had placed on our hearts to open an orphanage in Pune, India. Since that time, people from all over the world have offered their support through praying, sharing, and giving to the girls’ home ministry, helping to make this vision become reality.

In order to give Pastor Joseph Hiwale of Koinonia Fellowship Churches in India (KFCI) the go-ahead to open an orphanage in Pune and the assurance of ongoing support, our primary financial goal this year was to raise the start-up funds plus at least three months of operating costs. With a year-end funding total of over $48,000, that is exactly what has been provided! In addition, KFCI has been granted the legal standing to establish and operate an orphanage in Pune, and requests for housing are already coming in as news of the pending girls’ home spreads throughout the area.
The current plan is for Pastor Joseph to begin leasing and preparing a building in February 2012 and, Lord-willing, begin taking in orphan girls in March/April. In the meantime, we continue to pray for the children of India, particularly those in the midst of religious persecution and whose parents have been martyred for their Christian faith. In addition, our next financial goal is to raise the ongoing monthly operating costs for the girls’ home through individual sponsorships, beginning April 2012. If you would like more information about sponsoring the orphanage or other ways to get involved, please visit our How to Help page or Contact us directly.

Thanks again for your support—we are looking forward to a very exciting year. Have a safe and happy New Year!
